Family Requirements

Sweat Equity
Sweat equity is a great learning experience in which you work with your family, friends, neighbors, church, and volunteers to build other Habitat homes as well as your own. Working alongside other homeowners and volunteers to build your home is one of the most rewarding aspects of Habitat for Humanity. Sweat equity hours can be completed on the construction site, the Habitat ReStore, and at the Habitat office. Sweat equity hours can be contributed by all family members over the age of 16. In addition, up to 100 hours can be donated by friends, extended family, and other volunteers.

Habitat Home Loan
Habitat homes are sold at a price of approximately $60,000 to $85,000 based on house size with 0% interest. Habitat homeowners pay for their homes at a rate of approximately $350-$525 per month, over a period of 20-30 years. This amount includes property taxes and insurance.

Confidentiality
All information obtained during the Habitat for Humanity family selection process is confidential and will be used only for the purposes of determining eligibility for our program. Families who are not approved during one application period may reapply later should their circumstances change.
