[Bryan, TX] (June 1, 2009)- Local professional homebuilders and other industry professionals are joining Bryan/College Station Habitat for Humanity to complete construction of a Habitat home in just 72 hours. This project, dubbed the Home Builders Association “Extreme Build,” is to take place June 2-June 5. Construction will be underway 24 hours a day to ensure projects are completed in the 72 hour time frame.
“We are grateful for this opportunity to build a home in partnership with the Jenkins Family,” said Jerry Ponzio, President of the BCS Home Builders Association and member of the Habitat Board of Directors. “The Home Builders Association enjoys working with Habitat for Humanity on challenging projects that encourages membership involvement while helping a deserving family.”
The Bryan/College Station Home Builders Association gathered subcontractors and suppliers to obtain materials and professional labor for the project. To make this build possible local businesses have partnered with Habitat to donate or discount materials and time. The project is spearheaded by several local builders including: Stylecraft Builders, Inc.; JKM Classic Homes; Oakwood Custom Homes Group, Ltd; Pitcock & Croix, Inc; Ellis Custom Homes, LLC; Quinn Williams Construction; CGM Homebuilders, Inc; and O’Donovan Builders, LLC.

About Bryan/College Station Habitat for Humanity
Bryan/College Station Habitat for Humanity is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Formed in 1989, the local affiliate is dedicated to eliminating poverty housing and making the right to simple, decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat for Humanity partners with low-income families and gives them an opportunity to work side by side with local volunteers in the construction of their homes. Once the homes are completed, families buy them at cost through zero-interest twenty to thirty-year mortgages. BCS Habitat has partnered with over 170 families impacting over 700 people over the past 19 years. For more information, please visit www.habitatbcs.org
