01/21/2010 2:30 PM - It all started two decades ago with the dream of building one home. That first home took just about an entire year to build. It was with incredible faith and hope that the first small group of committed community members started digging that foundation for the first Habitat for Humanity home in our community.

Faith and hope are powerful tools. Twenty years later, Habitat has partnered with 180 local families to build safe, decent, affordable homes.

Habitat is celebrating these twenty years with the dedication of its 20th Anniversary home on Saturday, February 20th. We invite everyone in the community to come and celebrate this happy day when the Walker family will receive the keys to their new home and Habitat looks back on 20 years of home dedications.

It is because of the generous support of so many community members in both the private and corporate sectors, the tremendous volunteer base, and of course, on-going faith and hope that will continue to raise walls and give hope to local, deserving families in the future.
